Terms of Use

Draft pending legal review. This document describes how Coinlings is built and intends to operate. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before the app launches, and the final version may change.

These terms are the agreement between you and Coinlings. We’ve tried to keep them short, fair and readable.

1. Agreement

By using the Coinlings app, the website at coinlings.app or related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use (version 2026-10-01) and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service. Operator: [legal entity name and address to be completed before launch].

2. Who can use Coinlings

You must be at least 13 years old, or at least 16 in EU countries that require parental consent below that age. By using Coinlings you confirm you meet this requirement.

3. What Coinlings is (and isn’t)

  • Coinlings is a personal money tracker and habit game. It helps you log spending, plan budgets and build saving habits.
  • Coinlings is not a bank, does not hold or move your money, and does not connect to your bank accounts. Automatic logging works with Wallet via a Shortcuts automation that you set up yourself.
  • Tips, not financial advice. Numbers like “safe to spend today”, insights and challenges are estimates based on what you log. They are not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Make important decisions with your own judgement or a qualified professional.
  • Captured payments depend on Apple’s Shortcuts and Wallet features, your settings and connectivity. Please check your entries; we can’t guarantee that every payment is captured or categorized correctly.

4. Your account

You can start without an account and link one later (Sign in with Apple, Google or email). Keep your sign-in secure; you’re responsible for activity under your account. Tell us at support@coinlings.app if you think someone else has accessed it. Each person may hatch one free Coinling per account.

5. Your content

You own what you put into Coinlings (transactions, notes, photos, names). You give us a limited licence to store, process and display it only to provide and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Names and handles you choose must not be offensive, impersonate others or infringe anyone’s rights; we may change or remove them if they do.

6. Fair play

Please don’t:

  • cheat leagues, streaks, XP or gems, or use bots, scripts or modified apps;
  • create fake accounts or devices to collect referral rewards;
  • try to access other people’s data, probe or overload our systems, or reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it;
  • use the Service for anything illegal, harassing or harmful.

We may remove rewards, reset progress, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Gems, items and your Coinling

  • Gems, outfits, backgrounds, frames, badges and your Coinling are virtual items. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them in the Service. They have no cash value, can’t be exchanged for money, and can’t be sold or transferred outside the Service.
  • Your first Coinling is hatched for free. Its species and rarity are random, with odds shown in the app (Common 60%, Rare 28%, Epic 10%, Legendary 2%). We do not sell randomized items for real money.
  • We may rebalance prices, items and rewards over time. We will not remove items you own without good reason and fair notice.

8. Purchases and Coinlings Plus

  • Gem packs and Coinlings Plus are sold through Apple’s App Store and charged to your Apple ID. Apple’s terms also apply.
  • Coinlings Plus is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in your Apple ID settings. If a free trial is offered, we remind you before it ends, and you are charged when it ends unless you cancel.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Referrals

When someone joins with your invite code and becomes active (hatches a Coinling and logs 5 transactions on 3 different days), you both receive 200 gems and an exclusive Buddy Bandana. Rewards are limited to one per device, may be reviewed for fraud, and may be withheld or reversed if these terms are broken. We may change or end the referral programme for future invites at any time.

10. Ads

The free version may show ads in limited places and optional rewarded videos. Ads are provided by third parties; we don’t endorse advertised products. See the Privacy Policy for how tracking choices work.

11. Our intellectual property

The Coinlings name, characters, artwork, sounds, software and design are ours and protected by law. You may share screenshots, share cards and videos of your own Coinling for personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t use our characters or brand in other products without permission.

12. Apple and other services

Apple Pay, Apple Wallet and Shortcuts are services of Apple Inc., which is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Coinlings. Your use of them is governed by Apple’s terms. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience.

13. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Coinlings accurate, available and secure, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that calculations will be correct for your situation.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for financial decisions you make based on the Service. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your mandatory consumer rights.

15. Ending these terms

You can stop using Coinlings and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to stop offering the Service; where reasonable we will give notice and a chance to export your data.

16. Changes

We may update these terms as Coinlings grows. For meaningful changes we will tell you in the app and ask for your agreement before they apply to you. The version and effective date are shown at the top of this page.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the Coinlings operator is established [to be confirmed before launch]. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
